The Laurels of Hendersonville employs a team of highly qualified medical professionals, including a Medical Director, Registered Nurses, Restorative Care Nurses, a Wound Care Nurse, state tested Certified Nursing Assistants, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and a Speech Therapist. Our on-site Rehab, Dietary, Social Work, and Activities departments provide personalized and compassionate care to each guest. From the moment you walk through the front doors, the warmth and caring of the staff will begin to gain your trust and confidence, as they strive to exceed your expectations.
Unlike other facilities that use "contracted" staff members, each member of the team at The Laurels of Hendersonville is directly employed, not "contracted". Paul Shogren, Administrator
Paul Shogren has been the administrator of The Laurels of Hendersonville for over four years. He has been an administrator for over 21 years. Mr. Shogren has Bachelors degrees in Biochemistry and Biology. He currently advises the President/CEO of The Laurel Health Care Company on the President's Council. He is a Rotarian and a member of Four Seasons Rotary Club. Mr. Shogren is currently the president of the Rotary Club. He has been married to Esther for over 27 years and has four children.
Nancy Wallace, RN, Director of Nursing
Nancy earned her RN from St. Vincent School of Nursing in Birmingham, Alabama in 1979. She has over 15 years experience in Geriatric, Rehab and Long Term Care in Mississippi, Tennessee and North Carolina. She chose to make Hendersonville home for her family in1987 and has never wanted to leave. She joined The Laurels of Hendersonville team in November of 2009.
Robert J. Pompeo, MSW, Director of Marketing
Bob Pompeo joined The Laurels of Hendersonville in 2005 as Director of Marketing and Admissions. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ and received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Bob has been in the healthcare field for over 26 years. He currently serves as the Treasurer for the Professional Social Workers in Long Term Care and is active with the Western Carolina Area Marketing Directors Association.
Mary Beth Coulman, MPT, Rehabilitation Services Director
Mary Beth, physical therapist, has lived in Hendersonville for 15 years. She has been practicing physical therapy for 21 years. She graduated from The Medical College of Georgia in 1988. She received her master's degree from Barry University in Miami Shores in 1994. She specializes in wound care and geriatric orthopedics. Mary Beth trained in balance and vestibular therapy in south Florida. Her background has primarily been in short-term rehab in skilled nursing and rehab facilities as well as home care. She has been the director of Rehab Services at The Laurels of Hendersonville for 6 years.
